Writing Improvements

Hello1 I am going to show you how to make improvements on your writing. My teacher in 3rd grade taught be how to do this. I also actually chose this font because I think my writing looks like this! Back to topic. Let me show you a sentence that needs improvement.

I rode my purple bike to the parade.

This sentence REALLY needs improvement. Here's how we can make it better! First, we can add an adverb to "rode".

I quickly rode my purple bike to the parade.

Seems better, right? But we're not done! Instead of purple, we can use Crayola colors. Click here for colors. Go to the search bar and type shades of purple (or any color), and it will show you tons of names and colors. I'm thinking lilac.

I quickly rode my lilac bike to the parade.

And finally, let's add and adjective to parade. Click here for a list of adjectives. I found colorful. Seems to match with parade.

I quickly rode my lilac bike to the colorful parade.

We have finally finished! but it's good to revise your work. Like if you have good in your sentence, you can change it to awesome, extraordinary, exquisite, lovely, spectacular, and more! And use some metaphors too! Now I changed the sentence into something you can visualize.

I quickly rode my lilac bike to the colorful parade on a sensational sunny day.

Nice right? Imagine if you put that much detail in a story! So when you are writing, read and revise to make sure you can visualize you sentence/story/paragraph, and use the tips I gave you. And remember, the longer it is, the better! Happy writing!
